The story of Roadies: Hell Down Under
Roadies: Hell Down Under ran from 29 November 2008 to 26 April 2009 over 21 episodes, and it took the show from India to Australia. Rannvijay Singha was the host, 20 Roadies were in the field, and the prize was ₹3,62,000. The format divided the Roadies into two teams, Om Blues and Brats.
The Roadies came from cities across India: Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. The cuts came fast. Five Roadies were out in episode 1 itself: Sonia Chauhan, Bhanu Pratap Singh Rana, Neha Kapoor, Ankur Khanduja and Vicky Arora. Varisha Hawelia followed in episode 2. Roop Bhinder of the Brats went out in episode 5, Suzanna Mukherjee, known as Suzi, in episode 6, and then three Brats from New Delhi, Sandeep Singh, Bobby Chopra and Pradeep Singh, all went in episode 7.
Further exits came in a steady line: Tamanna Sharma in episode 8, Samrat Kaushal in episode 9, Paulami De in episode 12, Puneet Malhotra in episode 13 and Natasha Sinha of the Brats in episode 14. Devarshi Patel of Om Blues left in episode 5.
The comeback that defines the season belongs to Nauman Sait of Om Blues, who came from Bengaluru. Nauman Sait was voted out in episode 4, won a way back in episode 7 and went on to beat Longkiri Timung in the final. Longkiri Timung, known as Kiri and from Kolkata, was the runner-up. Gurmeet Kaur Johal, known as Palak, also from Om Blues, was a semi-finalist, so the winner, the runner-up and a semi-finalist all played for the same team.
