Questions people ask

What are the most famous crime cases in India?

Among the cases India has talked about most are the Jessica Lal case (1999), the Shraddha Walkar case (2022), the 26/11 Mumbai attacks (2008), the Sheena Bora case (2012), the Aarushi–Hemraj case (2008), the Nithari killings (2006), the Stoneman murders (1985) and the Burari Kand (2018). Each one is told in full in our Crime Files, from the first clue to the latest court ruling.

Which famous Indian crime cases are still unsolved?

In law, nobody stands convicted of the Aarushi–Hemraj murders (2008) or the Stoneman killings of the 1980s, and after the acquittals of 2023 and 2025 nobody stands convicted of the Nithari killings either.

Are these stories based on facts?

Yes. Every story is researched from news reports, court judgments and official records, which are linked at the end of each one. Theories are labelled as theories, next to what the evidence and the courts actually said.

When does TrendingPunjabi publish the week’s news?

Every Saturday at 12 noon India time, as one page covering the biggest stories of the week. A truly major event, such as a terror attack or a disaster, gets its own page straight away.
