The story of Splitsvilla 9

Splitsvilla 9 was set in Puducherry in 2016 under the theme Where Women Rule. Rannvijay Singha and Sunny Leone hosted the 21 episodes, which aired from 11 June to 8 October 2016, and 26 Splitsvillans took part.

The villa had three Queens: Martina Thariyan was the first, Rajnandini Borpuzari the second, and Kavya Khurana the third and ultimate Queen. Martina dumped more than anyone, sending out Karan Chhabra, Aditya Singh Rajput, Mayuri Das, Akhil Kataria, Anuranjan Awasthi, Niharika Ghai, Harshit Tomar, Milind Manek and Shubhashish Banerjee. Kavya dumped Karan Khanna, Priya Haridas and Pratik Kalsi, as well as Karan Chhabra, who had come back after Martina's dumping. Kavya and Rajnandini together dumped Abhishek Singh Pathania and Isha Anand Sharma.

Wild cards came in two kinds. Shreeradhe Khanduja, Mia Lakra and Priya Haridas arrived as the first, second and third wild card Princesses, and Ayan Khan and Zain Abideen as the first and second wild card Warriors. Rajnandini dumped Ayan Khan, and Zain Abideen walked out as a sacrifice for Priya Haridas.

Rajnandini also dumped Gurmeet Singh Rehal, who re-entered, and dumped Varun Sood twice, with Varun coming back both times. Those two went on to finish first and second, above Rajnandini in third. Nikhil Sachdeva was eliminated before the finale task because of having no partner.

Gurmeet Singh Rehal, the only and ultimate King, and Kavya Khurana, a Roadies X4 contestant, won as the ideal match. Varun Sood and Martina Thariyan took second place, and Pratik Kalsi and Rajnandini Borpuzari third, all having lost against Gurmeet and Kavya.
