The story of Bigg Boss 3
Bigg Boss 3 started on 4 October 2009 on Colors TV. Amitabh Bachchan hosted only this one season, and the house stood in Lonavala. Fifteen housemates took part, the prize was ₹1 crore, and the show ran for 84 days over 85 episodes until its finale on 26 December 2009.
The cast ranged across film, television, sport and music. Vindu Dara Singh was known as an actor, Poonam Dhillon as a film actress, Shamita Shetty as a film actress and model, and Aditi Govitrikar as an actress, model and doctor. Raju Srivastav was a comedian, Ismail Darbar a singer and music composer, Rohit Verma a fashion designer, and Kamaal Rashid Khan a director and Bhojpuri film actor. Jaya Sawant came in as a housewife.
Jaya Sawant was the first to go, evicted on day 5. Kamaal Rashid Khan was ejected on day 18 and came back on day 46 as a guest, staying until day 67. Sherlyn Chopra was evicted on day 26 and Ismail Darbar on day 33. Two wild cards entered: Pravesh Rana, a model, presenter and actor, arrived on day 32, and cricketer Vinod Kambli came in on day 33 and was evicted on day 47. Tannaz Irani went on day 40, and Shamita Shetty walked out on day 41. Rohit Verma was evicted on day 54, Raju Srivastav on day 61, Claudia Ciesla on day 68 and Aditi Govitrikar on day 75. Bakhtiyar Irani, a television actor, walked out on day 79.
The most striking comeback in the stints belongs to Vindu Dara Singh, who was evicted by the housemates on day 68 and re-entered on day 69.
Three housemates were left on day 83. Vindu Dara Singh was named the winner, Pravesh Rana, the wild-card entrant, finished as first runner-up, and Poonam Dhillon, who was in the house from day 1, was second runner-up.
